Terms of use

Last updated: [DATE OF PUBLICATION]

Draft for the owner. Replace everything in [square brackets] and remove this box before publishing. Not legal advice; have it reviewed once the business is registered.

1. Who we are

Ordinate 2D is provided by Solapsis, a sole proprietorship of [FULL NAME OF OWNER], [BUSINESS ADDRESS], the Netherlands, KVK number [KVK NUMBER], [CONTACT EMAIL].

2. An early version

Ordinate 2D is an early prototype. Features can change, break or disappear, and we may change or end the service. We will try to give notice of changes that affect your saved work.

3. Use of the tool

You may use the studio free of charge for personal, study and teaching purposes. Terms for publishing figures, commercial use and paid plans will be published before anything is sold; until then, ask us if you plan to use the output commercially. Do not try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the service, and do not use it to harm others.

4. Your work

Scenes, figures, animations, plots and data you create belong to you. They are stored on your own device; we do not receive them. Keep your own backups: export your scenes regularly.

5. Results are not engineering certification

Simulations are numerical models. They can contain errors and simplifications. Do not rely on them alone for safety-critical decisions, structural design or anything where a wrong result could hurt people or cause loss. Check important results independently.

6. No warranty, limited liability

The tool is provided "as is", without promises about availability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, Solapsis is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

7. Third-party software

Ordinate 2D includes open-source components (among them MathJax, Pyodide and CodeMirror) under their own licences, which are kept with the files in the app.

8. Personal data

See the privacy statement.

9. Law and disputes

Dutch law applies. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law says otherwise.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. If a change matters to you, we will announce it on this page.
